Button Codes

These are 10 step button combinations you press on your Nintendo 64 controller to activate. Care must be taken when inputting them because a misstep means you have to start over. Up, Down, Left, Right are for the D-pad, not the control stick.

In-Game Codes

You must input these while inside a level. If sucessfully activated you'll see a message at the bottom left of the screen e.g. "ALL GUNS ON".

Invisibility (Multi)

Invisibility (Multi) cheat on the highly accurate ares emulator.

This strange cheat fades the player who entered it to a near-invisible state. This state lasts for as long as the player lives. If they die, the code must be entered again.

Unlike the first four cheats, this one does not display a message when entered.

Line Mode

Line Mode demonstration on the ares emulator.

This rendering mode makes the screen pure white except for certain edges — edges where the foreground and background reside at different z-depths. It seems to be some kind of debug mode related to edge detection and maybe anti-aliasing.

This is what Rare had to say about Line Mode on their old website:

"Q: Is the 24th cheat a line mode/pen and ink mode?"

"A: No. The cheats were devised to try and make the game more fun in both the single and multi player games. How a line mode would have done this eluded us, so we kept it out. It might possibly be activated using a GameShark or similar device, and though it is a useful debugging tool, as a gameplay feature it is a bit lacking."

To me that answer makes it sound like the developers thought about adding Line Mode officially, but decided it was not worthy of that status. Line Mode does have flaws. You cannot see your ammo, crosshair, health, or any text while it's activated.

Cheat Menu Codes

Input these codes while viewing the main menu or the cheat menu. If entered correctly you'll hear the watch beep sound effect. If you're in the cheat menu go back then reenter the cheat menu to see the new cheat. The cheat option will now be permanently unlocked for that agent's file.

Input these codes in the mission select screen to unlock levels. You can only unlock missions one at time e.g. if you've completed Dam the only level you can unlock with these codes is Facility. For the Aztec cheat to work Cradle must be beaten first.
